I did a short interview with one of the local TV stations at the Local Author Fair back in October. Click here to watch it!
It’s really exciting to see your own book on the shelf at the library! *___*
(Thanks to my mom for the picture; I completely forgot to go look for it after the Author Fair back in October!)

A good reminder that sometimes stepping back and approaching a problem with fresh eyes is the easiest way to get it solved: a minor formatting issue with The Wizard of Suomen ebook back in October that I could not figure out only took a few minutes to solve today!
Pro tip: if you want your epub file to clear with no epubcheck errors, make sure you have the ” https:// ” bit in front of any web links you might have in your html file. Simple, but easy to overlook, as it turns out. -_-
I’m just double-checking a few things prior to promos for both the book and the short story, coming next week!

In Suomen, it is the tenth day of Pimeyskuu, the dark month, and they are celebrating Long Night and the Festival of the North Wind. 🙂

While my last batch of applesauce for the season cooks, here is a writing progress update! I promised myself a writing day over the four day weekend, and I got more than 4,000 words written on Saturday! Definitely my best day in a while.
All Land of Winds things, I worked on:
I’ll post some snippets of these at some point! (Anyone interested in any of them in particular?) The Swordsman will hopefully be out in ebook form sometime in the first half of 2019, and after that the publication order would tentatively be Elof and Maimu’s story, Alexei and Ilari’s story, and then Book 2. I have no real idea of a timeline on any of that just now, depends on how quickly writing and editing go.
I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving weekend!

And The Wizard of Suomen just barely made the Top 100 in military fantasy. Thanks to everyone who has given it a try! It’s on sale for a little bit longer, until 2am CST/12am PST.
Even if it’s #97, that still feels good. 🙂
The Wizard of Suomen eBook is on sale for $0.99 (reg. $2.99). Only three more days!
Elof arrives at the border war hoping that rumor has exaggerated the trouble he is walking into. To his dismay, the rumors are true: the conflict is a bad one, and his new commanding officer is a magic-user just like their enemies. Despite the difficulties, Elof and his comrades are holding their own when disaster strikes: the King agrees to negotiate with their magic-wielding invaders. Now Elof must decide if he can trust the King’s own wizard, and put everything on the line to prove the enemy’s treachery and defend his country. Come find out which way the Winds will blow…
I had a good time at the Local Author Fair I attended yesterday, my first ever book event! I sold two print copies of The Wizard of Suomen (exactly as many as I was expecting/hoping for), handed out many bookmarks for the ebook which is on sale this week, and had a poster up for The Witch release.
It was fun to talk to people about the book, and to see what some other local authors are writing. I bought a beautifully illustrated book of Vietnamese fairy tales from one of the other authors! I think I might try having a table at a small sci-fi/fantasy convention in my area in the spring, and see how that goes as well.

October has started out chilly and rainy for me, but that has made it a perfect day to curl up in my living room with my Halloween decorations up, the Green Dragon on the TV, and work on prep for the upcoming local author fair and formatting for The Witch.
I’m pleased to say that I’ll be able to do a cover reveal and announce a release date for The Witch (a prequel short story to The Wizard of Suomen) in the next couple of days! Stay tuned. 🙂
